To take these mental images of a project and turn them into real parts with consistent perfection ,over a extended period of time .Very few of us have the combination of skills required or the stick to it tenacity for such a undertaking . Is spark plug heat range a possible culprit?

Too cold of a plug can give you fits.

I have seen a similar issue like this and the culprit was a kill switch. We unplugged the kill switch and it ran fine.
