A/B Speedliner

I spoke with Alan yesterday who is at the NBRA nationals. Alan's son JR won the first heat of D Mod Hydro. Nailed the start, not bad for someone that has only been in a race boat for 4 months, this was done with an engine sold by Quincy to Ted Lewis in 1968. Doug Kay did a superb job in restoring the engine. In the second heat Alan started in 8th place and was able to pass nearly everyone by the begining of the second lap. Then the gremlins showed up. The fuel filter screw on the top carb backed out and the top cyliners were starved for fuel. He managed to finish 7th and this gave him a 3 rd overall. Not bad for a novice.
We are very proud of the job Alan and Jr along with the fine work of Doug Kay did. We also wish to thank everyone that has helped this year with setups and advice.
