Info Needed starcraft eagle

In the midst of buying a boat. It is a 1988 starcraft eagle, the guy said it was custom ordered for the cypress garden park ski team in florida. it has a 200hp v6 mercury that needs a lower unit and the interior needs some work, the guy wants 3500.00 for it. What is the history of these boats? heard it was a 380 hull design that starcraft bought from marathon? i uploaded 2 pics of the boat... he said it run about 97mph with the 2 people
