We had a 65 HP Suzuki on this inflatable. At the time, it was the fastest inflatable in the WORLD... No one cared, but me!!!

It was a wild ride, I rode with her, and we only went about one mile slower, but with me behind her, it handles better...She was a V Hull and she liked to rock and roll.

My wife asked me, if the boat was supposed to do that and I said "SURE"....She never backed off, but she did have a hard time driving it...BK never went on her head, but we figured she could have with out much trouble...

About 1981!!!

in 81, 65+ mph would have been close to the fastest inflatable of that size.
we have seen 80+ mph, you can see it too at the Kilos in the spring in FL.

In the UK back in the late 70s early 80s we ran a stock V bottom class called NE (750cc max) In those days the dominant motor for this category was the Suzuki 50 which came in at 723cc allowing it to fit in the class. The Suzuki 65 was a bored out version of the 50 giving 798cc but both engines weighed in identically. In 1979 the speed record for these boats was 63.55 mph.

Funny thing about the Wife's boat, went just about as fast with her driving and me screaming in the floor behind her, but it handled better with two in the boat...The wind kicked up pretty good, as it frequently happens at the RIVER, and the boat handled the chop great...

We were testing my MOD VP at Elsinore one time, and my wife (My wife acted as a chase boat, in case I went on my head and patrol boat, too!!!) was stopped at a light, some kids came by a "KNIFED" one section...we still ran the boat with that part flat.
