2011 Winter Nationals at Indio

Good news, SCOA has the water for the 2011 WINTER NATIONALS. The date will be the second weekend in March. March 12-13, 2011. This is a great little lake with about a mile and quarter course. The weather in March will be SUPERB.

This will be the first race at Lake Cahquilla in five years, the dreaded mussel has invaded the lake and they've decide boat racers won't hurt the lake. No noisy boats, so this will the STOCK WINTER NATIONALS only.

45ss usely run at the winter nationals on the west coast. rj west, steven dawe, and i run the class all the time. well i didn't last year.

Just looking at some old Circl Boat newspapers and realized it will be 20 years since Chad Hill, Kevin Curtis, Steven Dawe and other wwere racing at Lake Cahuilla, Indio, California...

Any info on this... nothing on APBA site. Camping/costs?

My father would like to go to it while in the area. Not sure if he plans to ride over on motorcycle or bring motorcoach... they spend the winter near Borrego Springs.

no camp sites available at lake cahuilla march 4 /5/6/ 2011 they are having a triathlon and are full up that weekend

Host hotel will be the Royal Plaza Inn http://www.royalplazainn.com/ in Indio. All rooms include 2 beds. Extra roll away beds are available for a small cost. We have 25 blocked rooms available on a first come first serve basis. This being a Winter Nationals, I suggest people book ASAP. The racer cost is $79 a night (normally $99). It's about 9 miles from the lake. Sylvia is the lady that put this together for us. There is also a highly recommended/well known steak house Cactus Jacks ,and local sports bar that is within stumbling distance of the hotel.
