With my thanks to Smitty-The-Welder I have scanned a very good copy of his the American Hot Rod engine brochure, a motor that prowls North America in stock and modified outboard hydro and runabout and its dyno card to give owners a flavor for its output. This model featured has the newer dual coil ignition and Lectron carb and the motor is in stock racing form. Older motors used the good old Tilotson HR self pumping carb and Phelon flywheel ignitions and other newer models had newere Motoplat type CD ignitions. These North American speedsters could go past the 70 mile per hour mark in competition. Not bad for a deflector (crossflow) outboard with a crankshaft rotary valve handling tremendous input breathing.
Anyone wanting to post their favorite Hot Rods, other related materials about them and their storys running them, please do. :)
