Talk to GW Luttrell, seems he tested 5 different intakes for his 45twin/pump a while back.
I have the contact info of the person that designed and built his intake.
There is also pic of his best intake in one of my albums;)

very tight to get wider reed block into the 45 crankcase, or was there some grinding and welding?
