With "Petty brackets" for the power trim. That is really a cool old Checkmate. Put gas in it and bring it to Portsmouth,Ohio this weekend and run it.

ThunderCats/SLT Inflatables are running in Sarina this weekend. Wish I could be there, but just too much going on.

You should come to Dunnville August 13-14 and run too if you are not going to Top'O. About 3 hrs from Sarnia. A boat or two are coming from Michigan.

That's a pretty cool adaptation ... sort of looks BP-ish at the same time its T-2X. The Chrysler should serve you well. Don't forget it spins the prop 7% faster than a Merc, so you are probably looking for a 15 or 16 inch pitch prop ... a 15 under your Chrysler would be equal to a 32 with regular 2:1 ratio and a 16 will be equal to about a 35 inch pitch prop. 12's 13's and 14's are rare and might take years to find.
What did you do about the stud mis-match between the 150 block and the BP tower on the exhaust side?

the top was cut off and a exhaust tuner plate with wings all in one welded on so any v6 power head will drop on.i have a couple of 2.4`s but i think thats just to much for this hull.As for prop i figured 15 to 16 might show up i havent seen any of the smaller sizes for sale anywhere

Here is a Twister Craft 13'. These were splashed from the MX 13. This had Mercury Twister on it when it was built. Now it has a Stock 150HP Power Head on it. I had Ronnie in LI make the Fiberglass drop on cowel with modified pan. Alot of fun. Allways been garaged. Not a scratch on the hull. It was used to drag race in its early years. Here are a few photos.

Its for REAL. This motor has NOS injection that was a kit from Land & Sea. It also injects more fuel/oil at the same time. It has dual solinoids one for fuel and one for nitrous. You can see the solinoids in the photo. This boat was used to drag race years ago and the nitrous was used to get the boat out of the hole quick and run a larger pitch prop. I still need to make a new bracket for the solinoid so it will fit under the cowel. I plan on getting the bottle filled and try it as it was designed to be used. The motor has leak down numbers between 1-3% so it is a strong runner.

Moombat, that must be a wild ride! I had a MX13 with a massaged 75-OMC.....I can't imagine 150 hp with a shot of nitrous.

I used a 2nd stage of methenol bean oil mix for the washdown you could run as long as you wanted as long as the 2nd stage tank was full it was evident with a big puff of smoke!!!
