Yamaha 40 trim

Is the clamp brackets and trim the same between a 15" mid and 20" mid on a 3cyl yamaha 40? I got a 20" and need to make it a 15" as cheap as possible

its the same on a merc only difference should be the length of the mid section below the motor swivel

some have a neck at the bottom of the steerin toob housin, i've, cut them down, put the bushin back in, then droped in the 15" steerin toob, this moved the lower mounts up so she could fit the 15" mid, you need a water toob....:cool:

its a 2000 model i believe. Anyone got a short mid then layin around??

edit: its a 98' for sure
