Albert and John Snell sponsored alky burners and mods. They were kind enough to show me some of their collection last weekend before the Port Nches race. John has Edgar Rose's Mark 20H prototype 'toilet bowl' but I visited the old Snell homestead where Albert lives, that piece of history is at John's place.

I wonder what 6 that pipe set up belongs on? Unless its a Hubbell (doesn't look like a Hubbell filler block), I've never seen that exact one ... maybe its one of the factory pieces.

Did you take any pics of the other side?

assume it's a Quincy manifold. I can ask Albert next time. I do recall that the pipes were cut off and left stuck in the manifold, Albert complained about that.

I agree with Gene about not being a Quincy part. I can also state it is not a Lon Stevens part. I'm putting a Lon Stevens 6 together and the manifold is al. cast 1 piece and L S cast on the elbows.

Could it be a prototype that Stevens, Hubbell, Parker or whoever made?

As I recall Hubbell "HORNS" were bolted to the exhaust plate. I never saw a Six Cylinder Hubbell "Horns".....but looking at the casting, it appears the elbow were welded to the exhaust plate.

I know the four cylinder plate was bolted, but maybe "Pep" welded the six cylinder elbows because these look like the Hubbell four cylinder elbows....

Just a thought, as I know they are NOT Lon Stevens exhaust pipes.....

The filler block was cast in on the Hubbell four cylinder, not a loose piece, like this picture.

And who else was building exhaust systems for six bangers in this era.....? Because, really, Lon Steven's system were developed much later in the in line six era.

I've never seen stacks like those either. I have no clue who built them. :confused: Next time one of them calls me I'll try to remember to ask about those stacks.
