I am throwing this thread out for everyone to join in. I learned, today, from Cal Poly, Pomona how they score the World Championship Solar Races. To not confuse everyone I will only talk about one of their races.
This is how they score points per heat in a two heat race:
1. Winner get 400 points Let's say the winner made ten laps in two hours.
2. Second place made 9 laps. He gets 90% of 400 points or 360 points.
3. Third finished 8 1/2 laps. He gets 85% of 400 points pr 340.
The don't use 400, 300, 225 points. Any opinions about this point system? I'm trying to think through it myself.
