I am after asome advice again, and this forum seems to be about the best place to get some.
I have a complete morse c-3000-ob hydraulic steering system for my outboard engine ready to be fitted to my boat.
The steering was working perfectly when it was taken off a boat recently.
I bought an evinrude 1995 60hp triple and this was all part of the deal.
i realy fancy the idea of the hydraulic steering due to the amount of torque the engine is putting through the normal teleflex system.
Realy my normal steering could do with upgrading to a bit stronger anyway, but since ive got this perfectly working hydraulic it seems a shame niot to go with this.
But i dont know how much fluid or what fluid to put in the system.
The helm will only be about 6ft from the engine so pipes will be a max of around 10 feet.
1/ will any hydraulic fluid work in the system ?
2/ can it take ordinary auto transmission fluid ?
3/ or does this need a particular type of fluid ?
any advice will be realy good
