Tested stator on 2005 40 merc 2 stroke triple
I ran a cdm(511973nl) with a flute attached to the the top coil then repeated for all 3 cylinders as following
top cylinder 1000rpm = 299 6600 rpm=302
middle cyclinder 1000 rpm = 286 6600rpm =256
bottom cylinder 1000rpm =287 6600 rpm = 262
then changed the top spark plug wire to 2nd cylinder and 2nd spark plug wire to top cylinder and did the same for the coil results
top cylinder 1000 rpm=302 6600 rpm= 257 ( which is really the 2nd cylinder due to crossing wiring)
middle cylinder 1000rpm= 290 6600 rpm=291 ( which is really the top cylinder due to crossing the wiring)
then I changed the stator and here are the results
top cylinder 1000rpm= 302 6600rpm=305
middle cylinder 1000 rpm=288 6600rpm=263
bottom cylinder 1000rpm=289 6600 rpm=263
would this mean that both stators are bad due to droping the fire or is that how it works ?
would this mean the coils are weak?
thanks for any help
