Hello, I am currently working on a Marauder X15. It's a splash of an old Allison,the only real difference with the hull is the pad is 12" wide. Right now I am replacing the stringers and the transom. I am going to be running a 4cyl 85 merc. The boat is going to be center steer, and I just plan on using it to beat on around the lake. Should I mount the motor on the transom or should I get a jack plate? And if I use a jackplate, should I make it a long shaft motor or a short shaft motor? Then I know I need to make it a low water pickup motor. Any help would be great. Thanks Chris
