Berghauer, Dee
Berghauer, Denny
Berghauer, Dewey
Berghauer, Harold

I could write a book about this family. Harold and my dad got along like brothers. Harold always brought a bottle of Brandy to Havasu and Parker for my dad. Harold, some how thought my dad was a brandy drinker...He only drink brandy when he was with Harold.

I've told Dee, about fifty times that I have this picture from the 1964 Nationals, at Modesto...

Somewhere here, I may have told some Berghauer stories, if I find them, I'll move them here...or retell them...

Someone needs to help me with spelling...Seems Mrs Harold Beghauer's name is Oraylea... This is Paris, 1968 at Napoleon's castle...

Orella(sp?), Harold's wife as seen above, was at Burlington and Oshkosh this past year. In fact I can not remember a time that I have not seen her make it to the pig roastat Burlington. She likes to see faces old and new. A truely sweet person.

Davey,
Orella is correct. It's Grandma B. to me and my (30 I think) cousins!
We just lost one, Denny's beautiful daughter, Kari.

Grandma B. is still sharp as ever. She remembers everyone and everything. Kind of like Ron Hill :)

I quickly counted (19) Berghauer/Kargus/Procknow/Allen family members who race or have raced.

I have a few stories from my era of racing with Grandpa B. and the boys, my uncles.

My favorite is Uncle Denny, I will use the term coaching, me after a race years back. He was explaining to me all the things I did wrong that day. I said, "Uncle Denny, I just won 4 heats in a row". It didn't matter. That is how we always got better!

Here is a picture from last fall of my mom (Jan Berghauer/Kargus) and Grandma B.

I read somewhere that 90 per cent of all American Brandy is consumed in Wisconsin. Don't know if it is true or not, but I know Harold Berghauer always brought Brandy, from Wisconsin, for my dad at Parker and Havasu...My dad never drank brandy except when he was with Harold...

Scanned this picture, now that I'm a SCANNER WIZARD...

Thank you Ron,

She meant a lot to so many. Dee

With a heavy heart, I tell you that Grandma B is gone to heaven. She passed away at approximately 7:00AM this morning with all six of her children at her side. As only Grandma could, she waited until the same day as Grandpa B to leave the earth – May 18th (18 years later).<?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O /><O:P></O:P>

A celebration of Grandma’s life is being arranged. I will e-mail funeral arrangements when confirmed. I have many photos that we used in a slide show at her 90th birthday party. I would love to update the slide show with any additional photos. Please e-mail any to me – thefisherfamily@new.rr.com.<O:P></O:P>
