Dr. David Christner; (oldest son of O.F. Christner and brother of Paul, a frequent contributor to this forum), was a very successful boat racer in the 50's and 60's.
David attended the 2007 Reunion at DePue and enjoyed talking with old friends. He was an impressive site in the pits wearing black slacks and a "Quincy Yellow" blazer. If you were there, you know the weather in DePue was HOT that year. Most of us were wearing tee shirts, and David is wearing a jacket????
For the past several years David has divided his time living at his home in Sarasota, FL and his second home in Bangkok, Thailand. David has contributed considerable time and resources to provide housing and medical care for orphans in southeast Asia.
In recognition of his efforts in this area, David was inducted as a Knight in "The Order of Malta" in 2012.
David was appointed the minister of foreign affairs of the "Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem Knights of Malta" in March of 2014.
He will be returning to Thailand in September for the dedication of a new facility.
