Yamah water tube help needed

I'm installing the tuner in my 30hp and the water tube will not go into the grommet that's in the mid section? Is there some kind of trick to get it in? I already greased it good and the grommet is brand new.

I got it in place today. The parts break down that I was using had me confused. Just a couple of things left to do and this junk parts motor will be finished.
