Anyone messed with the late model 25hp yamaha 2 cylinders?

I've got one just to play with and am wondering what these little motors respond well to. Porting? Shaving head for higher compression? Bigger carbs? Exhaust tuner modified? What I'm thinking right now is all of the above except the porting, but looking for some info from people that have had experience with these little motors.

Talkwith someone that competes in Marino Swing Cup in finland. We drive with tohatsu, but almoust half of the boats has 2cyl newer 25hp yammies bolted on.
