This is an article on the 1955 championships for APBA amd NOA. If i am not mistaken the R-26 boat in the backround would belong to Rocky Stone. Can you identify any of the others ??

Great fun to read, and I wouldn't interrupt but am curious about the listed author of all the articles, if anyone remembers Tracy Ogden . . . ??

Try looking for the noms de plume the Bowmans used. Tracy Ogden rings a faint bell. I just googled Tracy Ogden, Bowman Boat Sport and gone some hits. Ron had a post 11 years ago that makes me right.

Hap came to San Diego for the Divisionals, I think. Seems my brother beat him. Next were heard of the Midland, Texas "Flash", he has something to do with Chaparral Race cars. This was like 1953, I was 9!

I can't "Cut and Paste" these posts, but I would love to comment on many parts of these articles. Like, Monte Maupin is on the address of the magazine. Jimbo Mcconnell bought Monte's D Motor when he quit racing. I have Bob Davidson's trophy from the 1961 Nationals at Bakersfield in my office.
Very cool stuff, I have seen these magazines before, but not in 50 years!

I've got one more article to scan and post , I wish I had more. If I come across any more I will certainly post them.

1956 Alky Nationals story pages 1 - 4
I sure enjoyed the 1956 article on the Alky Nationals. When I was a kid (see picture), my dad took us out to Marine Stadium to watch the races, and that's where he got the bug to race, which he did some ten years later. Gotta love those funny looking trees in Long Beach!
