Just checked my answering machine at home since I am in Alabama for the winter. I had a message from Dickie Pond's wife, Kay, that he passed away on Monday, the 29th.
For those of you who didn't know Dickie, he was on of the best kneel-down drivers back in the 50s and 60s. DIckie drove the K-4 Ring of Fire boat for Marshall Grant of the Johnny Cash Band.
Dick's funeral with be Friday, Feb 2, at 10:30 at DeJong Funeral Home in Keokuk IA.
