As I mentioned elsewhere, this event didn't enjoy good luck with the weather during its five year run and that was true in 1973. Saturday's racing was cancelled due to winds that just made the conditions unsuitable. On Sunday the smaller classes ran in the morning, but the wind built over that day and the other classes were delayed. They did complete the event late in the day and as you will see it was dark by the time the awards were handed out.

An ad in the August 1973 Propeller touts Mike Seebold's performance. The class winners were:
FJ - Bill Johnson
FS - Howard Pipkorn
SJ- Neil Baker
SG - Mike Seebold
U - Art Kennedy

In 1973 Spalding ran many North American races as a Merc factory team driver, including Peterborough, Ontario when he drove the Twistercraft; Little Red.
