My brother, Russ Hill, Jr. was second in C Hydro. His best friend, John Drake was second in A Hydro.
C-6, is my brother's boat, that day, with Tom Gouldstone holding him. The hydro on the saw horse is John Drake's A Hydro.

Mission Bay doesn't look anything like that now days!
Things have changed a ton, but there is a nice motorhome park next to De Anza Cove and surprisingly, if you get the right view, without houses, it looks pretty much the same!
San Diego is still a darn nice plce to hang out, with all the water they have!

Mission Bay doesn't look anything like that now days!
Unfortunately race sites continue to be lost due to urban sprawl where people don't appreciate the melodic tones of racing engines.

In reading the APBA vs NOA debates in the 1954 editions I saw this in the similar threads section.

I think Bud and his wife, Mizzie, moved to Florida in 1955.
Bud was a true gentleman boats racer.
