I just picked this one up. Looks to be in good shape and it came with a spare nos short block. The prop is not a J splined prop, but uses a regular A prop. It has a bushing adapter that slides over the splines and engages a piece on the front of the shaft that has two pins sticking out of it to engage the adapter. I do not see anything that pins the prop in place . Just the tightness of the prop nut with a flat washer between the nut and the back of the prop. Does anyone know if the part that engages the adapter also is used for a J prop?
Thanks, Syd

As if I recall, the shim/bushing was used but did not have the flange with the holes. We drilled two holes in the front of the prop to engage the adapter with the pins.
Thanks, I will check that option out and also see what A props I have.

Dean, that is what we did with the J's, our adapter looked a lot like the one shown and it had 2 pins that engaged into holes drilled in the props. The shim had no flange. I still have a few that were used in competition back in the day.
