A Ted Jones Craft Inc brochure from the mid '50s(?)
shows at least five of these cab-overs on the shop floor.
He lists a F for $995, a C-D for $695, and a A-B for $495.
This one is a D, and runs well with this old 40" and a light driver, popping its tail up at about 45mph, depending on the set-up, ie; -whether u want it to tail drag or not.

I like it! Have any pictures of it running?

Unfortunately, NO. We actually staged a photo-op that day, with me on top of the diving board in the pic , and was urged to use a 'better' camera, which ended up getting pix of rooster tails, Should have stuck with my own.
I plan on taking it to the meet in Constantine, MI in July, Maybe get some there. It is neat to look at it coming at you, and seeing air right thru, with just the prop turning.

Al we will miss you. I have planned to go for the last three years, but canceled on account of either my wife or my med issues. Looking good for this year
May have trouble getting Stu to take pix, unless he has a 'helmit-cam'. I doubt he knows yet, but he is the driver elect

Sorry Dave, I thought you meant the Jones, and now
realize its the baby Arltra-Lite, 27CE in the background.
The only J boat I know of that Matt made.
Just a little shorter than yours, almost as fast ;)
I will look for a pic of Emily in it.

"Ted Jones Craft Inc. brochure" but weren't these boats built by Ron Jones?

If you wanted to "FREEZE" an era, Jones Cab Overs would have been the era... Fun to drive, handles rough water, covered like a dream and really were forgiving on the straight aways...and cool looking..........just weren't a Sid Craft!!!

Actually I was talking about the Jones. I grew up seeing that boat sitting on the trailer.
So there are a couple of "one of a kind" Arltra-Lites around? As far as I know I have the only D/E Mod Arltra_Lite. I know that it is the first one because he told me that he'd never built a DMH when I ordered it and he cut DMH 001 into the transom. I know that he made more than one FE/SE boat so I don't think there's anything unique about my FE/SE hydro.

David; -I knew what u were talkin about,
I was just 'yankin' your chain a bit, sorry :)

Other than the CSH 'mold' boats, [and there were many one off CSHs] all of Matts boats were 'panel' boats, or 'one-offs'.
I am not sure of the D boats, but I was of the opinion that your FEH was the biggest hydro he had ever built, as he was lamenting when we loaded it, that too much carbon fibre had gone into it. Maybe he built another one, but who has it?

We are hi'jacking this thread. Maybe Matt deserves a thread of his own. At one time, Hull #13, I knew where every one of his boats were.

[QUOTE=Ron Hill;73455]"Ted Jones Craft Inc. brochure" but weren't these boats built by Ron Jones?

Ron; -I have always looked up to you, and valued your opinion, cause you 'turn' about a week ahead of me.
I have been 65 for two days now, and coming out
of the fog nicely.
Chilean Carmenere.....
So, whats it like after a week or so?

Here is 3pgs of this Jones brochure.
No mention of Ron, but I do know in the 60s
he/I exchanged letters about a 280.
No dates in the pamphlet,
but must be mid/late '50s

And, could that be Art Luders he addresses on the 1st page?
