People talk about older parts fitting newer motors. Here is a brand new Mercury Mark 50 crankshaft, timing belt cog pulley and lightened flywheel with racing rope plate all put into a later model Mark 30H - C-Modified. She fits perfect but even with the end cap collar cut off because of the end cap bolts you still have to knock off the flywheel to deal with the timing belt, on or off. Belt clearance from any contact point is about 3 millimeters. The top neck of this crankshaft is shorter than a Marl 30 or Mark 55 of that period. I believe the Marl 50 was either 1953 or 1954. Enjoy the pics.
