Chad Hill and Pat Bowman lead wire to wire, 60 laps in The Blue Waster Casino 300 Enduro...
It was BMB Storage of Parker that sponsored the winning OUTBOARD...a V-6 Mercury
Second overall, and Division V winner was John Lane and John Roth, in a Stoker SST powered by a Mercury V-6. (Boat number 48)...
Third Overall was Jason Miller, who was also so, first in Division IV, Mercury V-6 V Hull.
Top three drivers also race 45 SST Tunnel boats.
Fourth Overall and second in Division V was John Soares in a Baker Tunnel
powered by a Mercury V-6...
Not sure where the 124 boat finished, overall, but he was second Division IV, Greg Foster and Mark Durham in the Terrible Herbst, number 19, Mercury V-6 powered V Hull was third Division IV and somewhere in the top ten....
Schiada boat number 17, may have won Division VI, the driver was thrown from his boat with two laps to go, he's ok, and may still have been a top ten finisher...
007 Finished second to P-24 in Division I...
And I honestly don't recall what anyone did in Division III but break...Marrone, Gritch, Kolby....I know all broke something
So, if a "WACKER" in an Outboard, the outboards took about 7-8 of the top ten...
Thanks to Fred Bowden....and BMB Storage or we'd never have made the race...Thanks to Steven and Lane Curry....for working like hell for weekend...Lane mixed gas during most of the race...Jay Hautabaugh wrenched on the motor all day Friday and Saturday...And Fred Bowden, drove the truck PERFECTLY.....plus was a constant "COACH"....Steven Curry kep a lap total so we knew where we were..
Scott March came from Chicago to help...He ground our water scoops so we got water.. His dad, and my BRF partner, Ted March came from New Jersey to help all weekend, too... Ted has been coming to Parker since 1981, and this is first Parker he's seen us win...He's seen us bust a lot of suff, before...They called the old 9 Hour, a Destruction Derby....
Cory Hill, Chad's wife, scored the entire race....
Chad finished assembling this motor on Wednesday night...by 4:30 Friday night, we still had no water pressure...Pat Bowman had spent two solid weeks getting the boat in shape to race.
Everything at "The Well Oilded Machine, That IS CHAD HILL RACING" went exactly as we planned, once the race started....Maybe, I should say it went like we dreamed it...
And, Yes, when Chad came across the line as winner of the Blue Water Casino 300......Like Fred Hauenstein and I had done in 1978....Yes, people saw me wipe tears from my eyes...I knew how much Chad and Pat wanted to win...Pat has been going to the Enduro since he was about 5...
Breaking down while leading last year was a heart breaker...Then, with all our bad luck this year, I didn't want them to race...I told Pat and Chad I didn't have he money to sponsor them....and I really didn't like them running so fast...why don't we pass this year??? Chad called Fred Bowden for sponsorship and told me that he'd run Division II, with no nose cone, so he'd be slower and faster...Chad's wife, sister and dad agreed with the slower speed division... Planning to win Division II, not even thinking of winning Overall...
Thanks to Tim Soares for telling us, on Saturday aftenoon, we should get water at the height we were, and thanks to John Roth and John Lane for telling us we didn't have a "Dry Pipe".....We didn't know if we had enough water, until....
Completed the first two laps......
Thanks again to John Roth for loaning us a tuner and mid section.... And to John Lane for "Finding" the tuner and mid section so John Roth could loan it to loan us...
Roth and Lane we going to make three pit stops, Chad talked them into making only two....by using their side tanks...and this two pit stops, helped them a lot.....as they came within two laps of winning.
Thanks also, to Jenny Lane, John's wife, for being so nice to Cory as she was scoring....and being nice all the time!!!
Thanks to volunteers, Jim Harris and Sid Castle, who patrolled all day......all day..
No pictures too busy worrying to take pictures...Pat Bowman's girl friend took more than 500, maybe some will get posted...
ADD: We sure looked good, for Powerboat Magazine's picture of the winners, all wearing RED California Gold...Fred Bowden "T" Shirts....Fred took off his shoes to pose for the picture...(He didn't want to get his shoes wet...).
Thanks, three million, Diane Bowden, for the WONDERFUL dinner for our crew, on Friday night....

Well....
Last week as I was sitting in the shop full of fiberglass shavings I never thought we would be the first across the line. I want to thank so many people for all that they have done for me.
First is Chad Hill for not only being a great FRIEND, but for the second year letting me give him a break and driving the #34 boat for almost 100 miles. Chad you are a great friend and look forward to many more years of racing with you.
Next is Ron Hill for all the support and coaching he has given me with boats. Ron Thanks so much for all you have done.
Fred Bowden and BMB storage for the sponsorship!!
Steven and Lane Curry for all the support, Lane sorry you did not see more of the race. (He spent most of the race in the trailer as the mad scientist mixing fuel.)
Corey Hill for scoring.
Scott and Ted March as well as Jay for the support in the pits as this is not possible without them.
I hope to see all of you next year for another SAFE race in Parker. Thanks for the dream come true.

Well, the race has been over for close to a week and I still think about it several times each day. With the run of bad luck we were having the last four races, I didn’t know what to think. Each lap, as we got closer and closer to the end I kept thinking to myself. What is going to go wrong? I think the last seven laps I only used the trim 25% as much as I usually do, I didn’t want to drain anymore voltage from the battery. As you may know a fuel pump does not work without electricity.
In the end crossing the checkered flag was a great feeling, something I hope everyone associated with boat 34 shared. I could not have done it alone.
We did it, we actually did it, we won the Parker Enduro!!!
Special thank you to the following in no particular order:
My wife Corey, who is my ultimate trophy and number one supporter.
My Dad, for owning all the equipment, mentoring my boat driving sense I was five and also believing in me.
Fred and Dian Bowden for sponsoring the BMB storage boat 34. You two sure can entertain. Dinner Friday was great. Fred sorry you missed your hunting trip.
Pat Bowman: for you help all year and a great show that first lap. You are a great friend. Racing would not be the same with out you.
Steven and Layne Curry for the help all year. You two go above and beyond, to make the weekends much easier. It is sure nice to be surrounded by good people.
Jay Hautable for keeping the powerhead and greacase tight.
Ted and Scott March for the help in the pits. Sorry I didn’t get to say goodbye before you left.
Harris, I mean Jim for the help.
John Roth for loaning us the midsection. I like the trick up your sleeve, I am just glad we had one too.
Murray and his brother-in-law for the Subway and good company.
We could not have done it alone. Thank you all!!!!

It's great when a plan comes together!
My dad (Ted) and I really needed this. It's inspirational to be part a of great group of people and an awesome team effort. At dark thirty Friday night, we didn't think we had a race boat and we all know the rest...The boat looked just like the old #34 we all have alwalys known (except for the deck)...all red and up front in the end.
Thank you to everyone!
Congrats to Chad and Pat - great driving!
Pat - It's a boat not an airplane! Ha-Ha! - great job!
Ron - thank you - you will never change, keep it real (where's Ron?...no one knows?????)
Fred and Diane - Wow! what a great night at your home Friday! Thank you!
Thanks everyone and we'll see you all soon!

I was in Havasu today...OCtober 29th, 2006...89 degrees, perfect...
Anyway, Roger Finney had this old Sleek Craft brochure...We compared it with the Sleek that won Division II, last year....Same boat, I THINK!!!
What do you think???

Pat's future bride took 200 pictures at Parker.......
HELLO, is this thing on??? Where are these pictures??????
No pictures, no Nostalgia RIDE Thanksgiving.......check that...I need you there!
ADD:
Scott March, if you can make a business trip out here for Thanksgiving.....I'll have you a ride in SOMETHING.... Thanks again for your tireless effort at the 2006 Blue Water Casino 300 Enduro....Dark Thirty was invented at Enduros....Thanks also, for saying I haven't changed....I have, I'm a lot older....but I still Boat Race 24-7...Bringing your dad to Parker, was a dream come true for Ted and me...I was afraid I might not see your dad again...
I had lunch at Stoker's Bar in Parker, yesterday.....I just sat and watched SC lose....but I was relaxed, something I didn't do last weekend, and savored OUR Victory...while I was planning the 2007 Mini Enduro...
What do you think...? For Fred Bowden's lots.....Ron Hill Super Highway??? Ron Hill and Chad Street??? Ron Hill Props....Fred is going to name his streets something......Maybe just Hill Racing would do it...
ADD: And I don't want Corey Hill getting mad at me....but when everyone was at the driver's meeting, Corey came to me and ask in her ALWAYS SWEET VOICE....Ron....she says, is the Bald (Scott has a shaved head...he may have hair) Headed guy Ok drilling on Chad's motor?? I mean does he know what he's doing? I answered, well, I hope he knows what he'd doing, because, right now we don't have any water pressure and Scott knows where to grind... Oh, Corey says, just seemed like a lot of metal was flying off the motor...
Thanks again Scott, for being part of "The Well Oiled Machine, That Is, Chad Hill Racing". Ross gave Chad that name, as we had his 45 laying all over the parking lot, at dark thirty, his first race back in racing...DARK THIRTY is when races are won...My dad always said races were won in the garage, just proven on the race course....But when you tip over in salt water or knock a skeg off.....or...DARK THIRTY is where the races are also won...
LAST ADD:
If you think you might want to ace 45 SS Tunnel. We will have capsule training at Parker, Thanksgiving. I also have an EXTRA Boat, If John Lane doesn't want to run it....Anytime, during the coming year, if you want to borrow a boat.....for 45 or kneeldown, I'll have loans for loan...

Thanks Ron! I need to look at my travel schedule for Thanksgiving...it will be tough to pull off but I will look-see. But I would love to run a 45SS boat or any other boat for that matter...exculding 007...I only enjoy seeing that boat race from outside the boat! I'll let you know...
