McDaniel Hydro- ever hear of one?

A guy near here has what he says is a McDaniel outboard hydro picklefork- 14' single center seater with a Merc700 for it. He claims it was built in 1975, and is all glass, open cockpit etc. I'm going to go look at it in the next couple of days to see what it is. The only reference to such a mfg is in Spartanburg SC.
