tach help

i just bought a teleflex tach to go on my 81 2 cyl omc. is there any way to make a home made tach harness from my console to my motor. if there is how would i do this. any help is great.

Just run the wires per the instructions. Most auto parts stores should have the split plastic wire loom material in a few different sizes. If you want an OEM look, use heat shrink tubing.

grey wire.........tach lead
purple wire.........12V ignition power (key on)
black............ground

connect to these wires at the engine...........usually at the little black plastic junction block on the stbd side of the engine......
