Working on a lil something for the local Tub races over memorial day.

If ya show up for the race mention this poster and pick one up - I should be done with it this week and get her into print..

This is not the final version, I'm putting another column in to balance it out...

You bet, I'm thinking I'll burn off 100 of them, 30 tubbers and that many again in support staff, family etc - and send some back to Canada......but that'll still leave quite a few!!

Here's the latest revision, waiting on 6 more pics...

I would love to see the Top O'Michigan race be filmed by a helicopter crew. I don't believe it has ever been done. Lots of stills and of course the helmet cam shots and such. Maybe "Freeze Frame video's" could be talked into doing this worlds toughest outboard race has a tribute to grass roots racing. I know they have done a great job with the offshore stuff. Check out their video streaming on the front page of their web site. Some very cool video footage.

Yeah maybe a little - that's how the sport started - a bet between two people, a real bathtub and a 6 horse motor.....across the straights to Vancouver...

There's a saying by old American tubbers that brought it down here to Bremerton:
Bathtubbers aren't crazy, but it helps

I'll definitely make sure I save some posters for you all!!

If ever you guys decide you want to switch classes or whatnot and you enjoy Canadian Culture (I DO!!! It's awesome up there!) let me know - because those pics are MAINLY from the Great Race - there's still a circuit we race with about 8 races a year - probalby slower paced than the mini hydros etc..

We don't do heats either, just one race..

I may be moving to the super modified class next year, just depends on finances etc....faster and whatnot...

Latest release - got my buddy Ray Lighitbourne in! Bottom right...

I took some to WestBay Auto parts today and the response was great, so far it's been phenomenal so I just need to get it to a printer now......but I'm still waiting on the 086 tub to submit a pic....

Scott - Looks GREAT! I thought I would share some Tubs from the past with you. This one is from 1989 "Propeller" entitled "A pocket full of memories".

Photo's by Bill Taylor.

That's wild! Do they still race down there?
Love to have them up if they ever want to build a rules legal tub and race!!!

I had heard that someoen in California was racing tubs!! LOL

I'm 42 now...but this is me at 16 LOL
The tubs havent' changed much since 1982....but back in the late 60's the Canadians raced like that until they found they went faster with plywood under them :D

How much have the speeds increased over the years?

How much have the speeds increased over the years?

That's a great question but in those old pics they ran 6 horse engines of older technology compared to the 8 horse of todays technology....

I'd say with the g uys that run the cleaver props they probably went from 22-25mph to todays 40mph....

For us stock guys we may have gained about 5-10mph max.

My old 7.5 Merc ran good but definitely a bit slower....notice the hulls were not as long as todays. Mine is right at 9 feet but I think these are probably 7 or so.....

Probably easier than a hydro?

Fiberglass "Insert", or aka "Tub", and a fiberglass hull - some people go so far as to use Kevlar, Carbon etc etc....

The goal is that when you cross the finish line, you, the tub, the engine and all your safety gear are weighed - and that weight MUST be at least 350 lbs - right now I"m running between 385 and 395 I think....depending how much I weigh as my weight can go 10lbs either way in 2 weeks...

The posters are hot off the printer now!
I just picked them up today, they are not large sized, more small poster sized, 10x18 or so.
