Dirk - Nice pictures. Fill us in. What body of water were the pic's taken? How many boats raced? Do you have a club? What national oranization rules do you race under? Keep us updated here in the states. Here is a link of some inflatibles in our country filmed running up a river at our Outboard marithon nationals. 42 mile long race thru lakes and rivers.

This is my 3rd racing year coming up starting in October, my first year I raced in the stock standard class, no. S34, second year I was running in the blueprint class no. 34 and the first to pics was racing at Mosselbay on the east coast of south africa in the western cape province, where we got a 3rd place for our class in the longhaul and 5th place in the wave surf circuit as we had poor engine setup, the 3rd pic is our last race for the last season where we got 3rd place for the surf and did not finish the long haul as we spun our prop, the 4th pic is the mockup I designed for my new boat for the upcoming season, I will be getting the new boat next week (can't wait) .... the last pic is my own personal experiment boat, I redesigned a 2,6m inflatable tender, changed the transom added high-jackers and added my fully modified suzuki 30hp pushing away at 75km/h (46.6 mph) with a 4-blade 16-p pro-pulse prop running 103 octane race fuel .... it is very unstable but I love the rush of keeping it on the water and look on peoples faces when I pass a speedboat with 125 on the back .....

SAIBA (south african inflatable boat association) make the rules of our races and issue the licenses etc. There is about 4 or 5 clubs here I belong to FBIBC (false bay inflatable boat club) ..... Our rules are pretty standard and basic, safety first etc. .... we have 3 classes, the P750S (stock standard class) P750 (blueprint class) and P750M (modified class)

Yamaha make a about 11x19 through the hub and about 11 x21 through the hub cleaver, you would need to jackit up on the transom, been 70+, but it's not easy to hold on to.

this is my first attempt at building a boat , its part 50`s design the round sides were part of a free glas kyack bottom , shown with 20 merc 200 mated to a mark 15 leg +foot , 12 p 2 blade = 36gps , have a merc 40 , 2cyl on same leg setup still tinkering with , quick test showed 38 ish at less than 1/2 throttle 16p 2 blade stanus prop , boat was a not set up well at time http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/bvrevrev/boat%20stuff/IMG_0050.jpg http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc164/bvrevrev/boat%20stuff/IMG_0046.jpg

i gots a reg Omc tiller, best to look for a long handle for #99, the throttle cam is
dif' for the tiller.

no shots of that wheel, it was Ugly, had Booma-rang style blades, a lot of cup on the tips, i had over guessed the gas in that shot, she's a bit wet in the river.

see if i gots a shot of what i'm drivin it with now dayz.

nice one fred ..... didn't you have a problem with the exhaust going over the hub?

Fast Fred
10-22-2007, 06:44 AM
no hub lets it slip on the low end, that wheels got a lot of surface and pitch.
gives the power head a chance to spin up before all that blade "Hooks Up".
bein none of that out of the hole:cool: guna try a through the hub for short runs, seems to pull out way better.

hows it lookin for the Transengulas?

deejaycee_2000
10-22-2007, 06:52 AM
Seem to be alot of entries this year for the trans aghulas .. over 80 boats ..... still some time away, getting my new motor next week, then straight to the mech to blueprint the motor .....

would you suggest a thru the hub for my kinda racing, or over the hub?

Fast Fred
10-28-2007, 06:06 AM
through the hub would be best for bustin through the waves, with a bunch of cup in it, you can still get way good top end. you workin out, ridein your bike , the gym and that. on the 4th and 5th day you'll be happy ya did.

deejaycee_2000
10-28-2007, 09:59 PM
I am race fit, to go to gym doesn't help really, to go ride every day practicing the beach stops work much better .....
