I received an early Christmas present in the mail this past week. Many of you know my good friend, Johnny Dortch. He sent me an incredible gift -- he copied his entire personal photo album covering his racing career. I've spent hours looking at all of the photos. As soon as I have time, I will start scanning them so I can post them here on BRF on a thread under the Quincy Welding, Loopers & More section, dedicated to Johnny Dortch's career.
Johnny is a well known person in outboard racing as his career covered 38 years, with many wins and accomplishments. Johnny raced my father's Quincy Mercs in the 1950's and the flatheads in the 1960's. In his later racing career, he moved on to Konigs. I am fortunate to have acquired Johnny's last B Konig. Believe me, I cherish it.
Artie N -- you won't believe what I found in the album. Johnny has a picture of Johnny Cash sitting on your Ring of Fire boat. When I get it scanned I will email you a copy so you can display it with your boat.
