Guys, I just got sent some pictures of a Johnson Stinger RS that I thought would be of interest to some of you on here. The motor is not mine but is currently being cared for in the garage of an avid boatsman on our sunny island. I think I read somewhere that pics of this motor are pretty rare, so I didn't waste anytime in putting them on the site. Hopefully it sparks a good conversation and/or gives somebody pics of a motor they haven't seen online. Enjoy!

I have a few other pics but they don't show much more of the motor. I can email higher resolution shots if you want - just drop me a PM or leave e-mail and I can send them to you.

Andrew, you have email by other BRF members blocked. If you want them to email you, you need to change your settings or include it in the post.

I would like the higher res images and the ones you didn't post. If you could email them to me at Mark75H@verzion.net, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Can anybody tell me some more about this motor? I'd love to learn a bit more about it.

Tim, that motor looks all factoryThats real cool! I wasn't sure because of the different colors of some of the parts and seems like I was thinking they had a flat lower pan like an SST60 motor.

I'll give you some more on it soon. I've been waiting for Fast Fred to give his say first.

Mark75H,
I tried emailing you the pictures (from hotmail account) and had it returned to me. Do you have another email I can try? Let me know.

I got lots of email from on that address today, but it failed one of two tests I did, try Mark75H@aol.com instead

Just like that OMC GP 4 cylinder engine that remains a mystery west of here, several Stinger engines were around here too with those racing gearcases but the only thing I found were some blown up ones, mostly scavenged for their remains and gearcases long gone. A fellow in these parts built a Popular Mechanics tunnel for that version of Stinger but ended up killing himself when they finally put a Merc V-6 and racing tower on it. The boat itself was on a trailer put up for sale years ago with the OMC tower and clamps on the transom but nothing else. By the time I got there that was all that was left was the crashed boat and that tower and clamps. Some of that stuff still must be around here somewhere.
