Long Beach Marine Stadium 1945. I was one year old at this race. Bob Sly and Frank Cooper Enterprises were the sponsors...Bob Sly was a funny guy...He came over to our house once. He left his lights on in the driveway. My dad told him he'd lift his lights on and Bob answered, "I know, I didn't want my battery to go dead..."...Our family still says that anytime we leave lights on...So, dumb...60 years on dumb saying in our family...
15 cent for a program..Power Mist fuels??? Seems that is still around...Mercury Outboard, pre Elgin Gates...
