The days before the race were always the most interesting, watch the behind the scenes footage of the Mercury factory team preparing at the Havasu Springs Motel, see the secret testing and pit action leading up to the race.
This 18 minute video was shot by a couple of young fans from Vancouver BC Canada, Mark Benson and Nick Springate. We were on the crew for David M Potter #226 from Seattle, WA.
Mark and Nick have since moved the Super 8 footage to digital, added sound, narration and a ton of research to give you a glimpse of the excitement that brought tunnel boat racers from around the world to win the crown of speed and endurance.
The video is available on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkLjBAp2Ghc) and also in high resolution at our www.GoSee.TV/boatracing (http://www.gosee.tv/boatracing/parker-enduro-1975-testing.html) video page. There are a lot more fascinating vintage boat racing productions coming your way, please provide your feedback and suggestions, we love to hear from you! If you know of any old films, VCR tapes, with sound or no sound or any other media that features OPC tunnel boats, we are interested in helping to get it on the web for all to enjoy.
