Sst 45 Motor Question

I have located a year 2000 johnson 50 hp motor model # j50plssm,(20" shaft) motor was dunked IN SALT WATER according to the owner and lower unit is in not too good of a shape
would this be sutable to build an sst45 motor, any idea how much i should have to pay for the motor as is ?

wrong year, everything in it is different than the sst45 motors.
you want the years around 1987-88-89

If it has been dunked in the saltwater and was not dried out properly, it is completely junk.

Thank you for the information, i guess its to bad this motor is not usable, it was a good deal at $400.00....
i will keep looking
