A bit before my time, but I think it is Dave Swanson - and the other guys may be Lance Puckett and Stu Lowe.

Cool picture! The coolest part is those trophies are the same ones awarded today, last week to be exact... Its kinda cool that my dad and I are on the same trophies, sometimes 35 years apart.

Ok... It is Dave Swanson, Jeff Lowe (BSH) and the other is Lance Pucket (ASH).
Most likely 1965, 1966, or 1967.

Top left: Earl Garrison (Most Likely BU ie B Stock Runabout), Dave Swanson (AU ie A Stock Runabout), Dale Powell (Most Likely CU or DU), and
then Jeff Lowe (B Stock Hydro).

Bottom Left: Don Gano (Most likely CU and C Stock Hydro), Lance Puckett (A Stock Hydro).

Most of these guys held records in their respective class. Jeff Lowe was also BSH National Champ in 1966, in Prineville, Oregon.

Seems Jeff Lowe's B Hydro beat the pants off all those guys "BACK EAST" in '66. Blue decked hydro as I recall. What was the brand of that hydro? One reason I ask is becasue by 1968, two years later, the Hedlund Hydro dominated A and B Stock hydro. Was Jeff's a Karelsen?

Ron,

Jeff's hydro was a Marchetti. And, actually he won because everyone else jumped the gun the first heat. And, actually it was at this 1966 Nationals that the Hedlunds were the boats to beat. Stu Wilson won ASH and Bob Hering was the fastest in BSH. Their "secret" was bigger propellers jacked up more. They also had narrower botoms, 31" wide, where the Sids, Marchettis and Karelsens were 34" to 36" at the time. When I got my Hedlund it was immediately faster with the motor jacked up. Then I got a new Pappa Smith propeller which was made for the Hedlunds and was even better.
